Lorna and Jay

Wedding photographers are lucky enough to experience first-hand the amazing diversity in customs that lay within the different cultural backgrounds. Today the groom Jay is being tested by the bridesmaids. For Jay to be allowed inside to see Lorna, he first had to answer a number of questions about her. He needed to prove he knew her well - well enough to know her favourite foods, favourite music and a number of other little details. When he answered a question incorrectly he had to dance on the spot. The pressure then continued when he was made to author a poem on the spot and recite it to them. His persistence paid off, he eventually made it inside!

Lauren and Ben

Who said Rugby players can't be total gentlemen also?? Ben took Lauren's breath away with a brilliant surprise right at the end of the ceremony. Just as they turned to head back down the aisle, a band he secretly organised and then hid away up on the balcony kicked off with their rendition of the song "All you need is Love". It's the same song that was used in the church scene at the start of the movie "Love Actually".

In my 20 yrs of shooting weddings this was a first for me. Just sensational!!

Edwina and Nathan

One of my favourite times at every wedding is the 5 mins from once you arrive at the ceremony until you are standing next to that special guy. Everyone has butterflies in their bellies, the groom sighs a sigh of relief, people hustle inside after snapping a quick shot of you standing there, the girls fuss about making sure everything is perfect and then it's time to face the music. You start to head down the aisle, your legs seemingly have a mind of their own, but you manage to walk calmly and slowly to the other end . . . . . . . not for one second does your husband to be take his eyes off you. It's probably my busiest 5 mins in the day, but I just love the mix of emotions.
